Schedule & Activities
Every day is different and holds something new to explore
Based on the time of year, our schedule changes. The following sample schedule is an approximation subject to change, but a typical day looks something like this:
Whole Group
Whole group activities are based on current topics and focus on specific areas of development such as math, language arts, fine art, science, social studies, health, nutrition, and music.
Children are strongly encouraged to participate (as they gain the ability) in whole group activities.
Small Group
Small group activities are based on individual interests and focus on specific areas of development. Children may work with me, a peer, or by themselves. At times, the whole group may choose to participate.
Gross & Fine Motor
Gross and fine motor activities help support physical development. Fine motor activities are embedded in most activities throughout the day. Gross motor activities are encouraged 2-3 times each day and may be done inside or outside.
Teacher’s Choice
Teacher’s choice activities are done if we need more support for subjects explored during the day.
Rest & Quiet Time
Rest and quality time activities include napping, soft music, writing, coloring, reading, a short PBS-type program, puzzles, art, and math activities.
